Primary Function: The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including Onboarding/Offboarding and the lifecycle of the employee, as well as company policies and practices administration.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • *Provides support and guidance to HR team members, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • *Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required
  • *Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • *Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Oversees the daily workflow in the department
  • *Supervise the preparation and maintenance of personnel records for consistent and accurate data reporting and analysis.
  • *Provide expertise and advise on policy administration and application.
  • *Collaborate with Plant Managers in organizational planning and personnel development including evaluation of performance of wage and salaried personnel as it relates to organizational moves
  • *Oversee Training Programs in conjunction with the Training Coordinator
  • Plan community relations’ and Employee Engagement activities in agreement with President, Plant Managers and Head of Human Resources.
  • Other activities as directed by the Head of Human Resources.

Prerequisites: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with a minimum of five years of human resource management experience in manufacturing -preferred
  • Or 10 years direct HR leadership experience in a manufacturing setting
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

*This position reports onsite to the Altavista Plant each workday.

Assessments:  Medical – Vision corrected to 20/20, drug screen and Hearing to normal speech
