Primary Function: The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a customer base sufficient to meet assigned market share and sales volume goals. Increases revenues by developing relationships, following up on sales leads, generating quotes and obtaining orders from customers.
Education: Bachelor's degree, Engineering preferred from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Minimum five years’ experience with a proven track record of sales growth and new business capture with technical products. Technical textile experience also preferred with industrial manufacturing organizations.

Physical Requirements:
Activity Frequency, Amount, or Description
(x) Standing: Must stand in factories offices, transportation facilities for periods of up to 1-2 hours at times.
(x) Sitting: At desk, conference rooms, transportation facilities, in autos including requirement to drive.
(x) Moving (Self): Taking plant tours, in transportation facilities, around office often requires several hours of walking and climbing stairs.
(x) Climbing: Stairs and on factory equipment.
(x) Moving material: Involves lifting 10-50 pounds luggage briefcase and samples.
(x) Hearing/Speaking: Must give presentations to customers and subordinates. Must receive information from same groups. Must speak and listen on phone.
(x) Reaching: For luggage on aircraft and from trunks of taxis, rental cars, etc.
(x) Visual Acuity: Must read large volumes of printed material, memos, sales reports. trade magazines, specifications.
(x) Bending/Stooping: For files, lifting luggage and samples, inspecting product in factories.
(x) Other: Extensive travel on all types of commercial vehicles, ability to drive a necessity.

Preferred Qualifications: College degree, management training, product knowledge experience in production or technical environment.
Mandatory Qualifications: Verbal and written communication skills, sales skills and product knowledge, 5 years sales experience
Assessments: Medical as necessary, Performance Review

- Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action and communicating with customers and staff as needed.
- Communicates customer perceptions by gathering customer feedback and sharing information with management.
- Brings value to owners, engineers, contractors, and other customers by suggesting better solutions.
- Works closely as a team member with other parts of the business.
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
